Summit Natural Gas of Missouri has been serving the residential, business and industrial needs of Missouri since 1995. We are a natural gas distribution company that specializes in bringing natural gas to rural and underserved areas where other service providers won’t or can’t go. Our underground systems are built using state-of-the-art materials and equipment with years of experience building safe and reliable systems in challenging terrain.

Summit Natural Gas of Missouri is a subsidiary of Summit Utilities, Inc., started in 1997 by two entrepreneurs who wanted to provide inexpensive fuel and energy options to underserved communities. Since then, Summit Utilities, Inc. has built 20 natural gas systems, in addition to recently expanding into Maine’s Kennebec Valley. The Company now serves more than 35,000 homes and businesses in Colorado, Missouri and Maine with clean, affordable natural gas.

We are proud to deliver North American-sourced natural gas, helping Missouri and the country reduce its dependence on foreign energy sources. We are also proud of our exceptional safety record — during its 16 years in business Summit Utilities, Inc. has never had a major accident.

The Team

Dave Moody
President, Summit Natural Gas of Missouri

Dave is a highly experienced senior manager in operations of natural gas with more than 20 years’ experience. Dave began his natural gas career in March 1978, in an entry level position with Peoples’ Natural Gas in Garden City, Kansas. Dave’s early experience was as a technician performing many customer service activities, including all sizes of residential, commercial and industrial services, and utility compliance activities. He quickly advanced in his career entering management in 1985. Dave continued his management career at Peoples until 1996 when he became a sales manager with Aquila Energy Marketing. In 1998, he was appointed Director of Operations for Peoples Natural Gas in Colorado. In 2001, Dave joined Summit Utilities, Inc. in Colorado as a District Manager in the Northern District. At the time, Summit served 1,300 customers. Dave has helped it grow to over 20,000 customers including new properties in Missouri. In 2005 Dave assumed duties as Vice President of Operations which included supervision of all the Customer Service and Field Operations personnel in Colorado and Missouri, setting safety principles, serving as a member of the gas purchasing committee, and serving as compliance and policy lead. Dave has helped create new O&M, safety, emergency, transmission/distribution integrity, public awareness, and Demand Side Management plans as well as recommending changes to applicable tariffs.
Martha Davis
Director,Regulatory Affairs of Missouri

Martha previously held various positions in the regulatory and government affairs field over the last 12 years including: Policy Advisor for the Missouri Public Service Commission; Legislative Coordinator for the Missouri Department of Revenue, Taxation Division; Missouri Senate Appropriations Committee; and the U.S. House of Representatives. Martha has a B.A. Political Science from Westminster College in Fulton, MO; completed a Public Law program at American University in Washington, D.C.; and a M.P.A. Public Affairs from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Martha currently serves on the Summit Utilities, Inc. Leadership Committee; is highly active with the Missouri Energy Development Association (MEDA) including serving on the MEDA Legislative, Regulatory, Education, Communications and Tax Committees and the MEDA Supplier Diversity Task Force; member of the American Gas Association (AGA) State Affairs and FERC Regulatory Affairs Committees; Advisory Board Member of the Financial Research Institute (FRI); and also currently participates in the Missouri Governor’s Comprehensive State Energy Plan (CSEP) Working Groups for Energy Distribution and Storage; Energy Usage; and Energy Pricing and Rate Setting.
